About Callie Farmer:
Artist and Printmaker
I have received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and my Master of Arts and Fine Arts in Printmaking from Bradley University in Peoria Illinois. For the last three years, I have been teaching studio and history courses at Fayetteville Technical Community College in North Carolina. North Carolina has been home for the last five years, offering my family a fun and exhilarating life. It is amazing to watch my family grow and see the new and exciting ways we inspire one another.
Over the years, I have become strongly influenced by the power of human relationships both physical and emotional. With my son growing and learning about his own personal physical self, inspired my recent body of work. I became extremely influenced by his reaction to feeling someone else's touch and seeing that emotional response. He has continued to inspire and allow this new body of work to grow and evolve as he has.
Currently, my work has taken a huge backseat and has gone all the way back to the basics. Through the current pandemic, my work has lost motivation and insight. I have started a small body of work exploring the world of still lives utilizing chalk pastel to study lighting, texture and material application.
